Simone Young's Bio

Clients who struggle with perfectionism, anxiety, depression, and oppression enjoy working with Simone. Her warm, relationship-oriented style puts clients at ease to navigate their concerns. She has a broad background in multicultural counseling, and brings a holistic view to each therapy session. Her expertise in ACT and DBT helps clients achieve skills to manage symptoms that interfere with their lives, and cross-cultural approach gives her appreciation for a variety of experiences.

Simone has a PhD in Counseling Psychology, and wrote her dissertation on “Gender Differences in African Americans’ Academic Outcomes: The Role of Self-Efficacy and Racial Identity. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, cooking, watching movies, and reading. She loves spending time with friends and family, as well as practicing spirituality. Walking is her favorite way to enjoy the outdoors. It’s meaningful to Simone to advocate for multicultural and diversity rights.
